This Privacy Policy describes how Sociable Reviews (“we,” “our,” or “us”), operated by Sovi Apps Inc., collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our website, services, and applications (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you use our Services or when you otherwise interact with us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the date at the top of the policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy whenever you access the Services.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Shopify Store Information — When you install our app, we receive access to your Shopify store ID, domain, plan information, and other basic store data through the Shopify API.
Billing Information — Payment is processed by Shopify’s billing system. We do not directly collect or store your credit card details.
Business Identifiers — You provide us with Google Place IDs, Facebook page URLs, and/or Trustpilot business URLs so we can retrieve reviews on your behalf.
Communications — If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message.

Information Collected Automatically

Device Information — Hardware model, operating system and version, and unique device identifiers.
Log Information — Browser type, access times, pages viewed, and IP address.
Usage Information — Interactions with our Services such as widgets created, review sources connected, and settings preferences.

Information from Third Parties

Our app retrieves publicly available review data from third-party platforms based on the business identifiers you provide. We use Wextractor, a third-party reviews API service, to retrieve reviews from Google, Facebook, and Trustpilot. We also use the Google Places API to provide business search autocomplete when you set up a Google review source. The data retrieved includes:

Review content
Reviewer names
Review dates
Star ratings or recommendation status
Reviewer profile picture URLs

We collect this information only for businesses you specifically configure in our app.

How We Use Information

Provide, maintain, and improve our Services;
Process transactions and send related information;
Send technical notices, updates, and support messages;
Respond to your comments, questions, and requests;
Monitor and analyze trends and usage;
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity.

Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you uninstall the app, we will delete your personal information and review data within 30 days, except for data we are legally required to maintain.

Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including:

Wextractor — Retrieves reviews from Google, Facebook, and Trustpilot based on the business identifiers you provide.
Google Places API — Provides business search and Place ID lookup.
Vercel — Store and serve our application and data.

Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

Protection of Rights

We may disclose information to protect the safety, rights, or property of Sociable Reviews, our users, or the public.

We may share information with your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Platforms

Our Services connect with Google, Facebook, and Trustpilot to retrieve publicly available reviews. We do not share your merchant information with these platforms beyond what is necessary to retrieve reviews. When you provide business identifiers for these platforms, you are directing us to retrieve publicly available review data from these sources.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

Your Rights and Choices

Account Information — You may update or delete your account information at any time by uninstalling the app or contacting us at support@soviapps.com.
Review Data — You control which reviews are displayed on your store and can enable Privacy Mode to anonymize reviewer information.
Data Access and Deletion — You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

International Data Transfers

We are based in Canada and process information on servers located in Canada and potentially other countries. By using our Services, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in these locations.

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
