Finding Business ID & URL
To display reviews in Sociable Reviews, you'll need to provide your business identifier from the platform(s) you want to pull reviews from. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for finding your business ID or URL for each supported platform.
Google Place ID
A Google Place ID is a unique identifier for your business location in Google Maps and Google My Business.
How to Find Your Google Place ID:
Use the Place ID Finder Tool:
- Visit the Google Place ID Finder
- Enter your business name in the search box
- The map will show your business location
- Click on your business marker on the map
- Your Place ID will appear in the info window (it looks like "ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4")
- Copy the full Place ID
Common Issues:
- Multiple Locations: If you have multiple business locations, each will have its own Place ID. Choose the one you want to display reviews for.
- Business Not Found: Ensure your business is registered with Google My Business and verify the listing is published.
- No Reviews Showing: Confirm you're using the correct Place ID and that you have reviews on Google.
Facebook Business ID
Your Facebook Business ID can be found in your page URL and is typically your business name with hyphens or your custom username.
How to Find Your Facebook Business ID:
From Your Facebook Page URL:
- Go to your business page on Facebook
- Look at the URL in your browser address bar
- The format will be: facebook.com/YourBusinessID
- Your Business ID is everything after "facebook.com/"
- Examples: "starbucks" or "myawesomeshop"
Common Issues:
- Page vs. Profile: Ensure you're using a Facebook Business Page, not a personal profile
- No Username Set: If you haven't set a username for your page, go to Page Settings to create one
- Special Characters: If your page name contains special characters, use the exact URL format
Trustpilot Business URL
For Trustpilot, you'll need your complete Trustpilot business profile URL.
How to Find Your Trustpilot Business URL:
From Trustpilot:
- Go to Trustpilot.com
- Search for your business name
- Click on your business in the search results
- Copy the complete URL from your browser's address bar
- Example: "https://www.trustpilot.com/review/yourbusiness.com"
Common Issues:
- Multiple Profile Pages: Some businesses may have multiple profiles on Trustpilot. Choose the one with the most reviews.
- Domain Mismatch: Ensure the domain in your Trustpilot URL matches your actual business website.
- Unclaimed Profile: If you haven't claimed your Trustpilot profile, do so for better management.
Troubleshooting
No Reviews Appear After Setup
If you've provided your business ID but no reviews appear:
- Verify the ID: Double-check that you've entered the correct business ID/URL
- Check Review Count: Confirm you have public reviews on the selected platform
- API Limitations: Some platforms limit how frequently reviews can be fetched
- Wait for Cache: Allow up to 30 minutes for the initial reviews to be cached
- Contact Support: If issues persist, contact our support team
Business Has Multiple IDs
If your business has multiple locations or identifiers:
- Create Multiple Widgets: You can create separate widgets for each location
- Choose Primary Location: For a single widget, use the location with the most reviews
- Merged View: Consider using our "branch merging" feature (contact support for details)
Platform Account Access
Sociable Reviews doesn't require access to your platform accounts to retrieve public reviews. However, having claimed/verified business profiles on these platforms will ensure your reviews are properly attributed to your business.
